How To Make a Website from a Blogger Blog - Part 1

I consider myself an above average computer person (I know basic HTML and how to do various other things).  I have made a website several years ago  looking back it was bad.  I knew nothing of HTML or anything about web design or anything like that.  I did a basic template from Go Daddy and sort of customized it.  I was definitely not pleased with it but it was a work in progress.  Fast forward three years an I sit here now typing this.  I have several blogs (way too many) some I am admin on others I don't use any more because of Facebook.  My main blog now is this one, the A.J.'s Digi Shoppe and A.J.'a Digi Shoppe Blog.

When I built A.J.'s Digi Shoppe I refused to get a website, I did not want to fork over the money for it. There are now some many things you can do to make your blog look and act like a real website in my opinion you don't have to fork over the money.  I have decided to type up a little how to guide on How to make your blog look like a website.  I have no idea how many sections this will be but I think having everything in one place will be extremely helpful.  Some of them I have already covered.  It has taken me several months to get everything together and building the Digi Shoppe I have even more stuff to add.

One of the big down falls with a blog (i.e. Blogger) is that your first page is a dynamic page, meaning your blog has to stay on the main page.  The other pages are static meaning you cannot change your blog to another page.  Unfortunately there is no way around this if you wanted your blog on your "faux website."  I will offer y'all some suggestions on how to do things such as a blog in a later post.

The first thing you need to do if you have not is buy a domain name - I recommend just going through Google (it is really Go Daddy).  For $10 a year you get to keep your blog hosted on Blogger with your "NEW" domain name.  I know some of y'all are like what is a Domain Name?
According to Wikipedia: A domain name is an identification label that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or control in the Internet. Domain names are hostnames that identify Internet Protocol (IP) resources such as web sites. Domain names are formed by the rules and procedures of the Domain Name System (DNS).
And what in the world does that mean?  Lay men terms: in the address bar of your browser you typed an address (i.e. www.ajsartsanddesigns.com) to get here - it is your web address.  Think of it as your street address for your blog or website.  If you have a blog with Blogger your address is:  www.yourblogsname.blogspot.com if you buy a Domain Name it would just be www.yourblogsname.com  dropping the blogspot making you one step closer to being legit.

The items that I have already covered I have Hyperlinked.  These are some of items I am going to covered:
How to add Zip File Download
Removing the Attribution Bar
Removing the Navigation Bar
Adding Pages Without Adding Pages
The Page Hack (If you want more than 10 pages)
Adding a Background
Removing Side Bars from Pages and Posts
Adding a Favicon
Removing the Home, Next (Newer), Previous (Older) button on
Removing the Atom Subscribe Button
Removing the Share Button (Gmail, Buzz, etc.)
Tables
Website Badges (not "buttons - even though they are the same - lol)

I have some things to blog about for the next few weeks so I hope everyone enjoys this little section I decided to do.  I will try to make everything as easy to understand as humanly possible.
